Surgical and Nonsurgical Options

At the Kraus Back and Neck Institute (KBNI), we specialize in non-surgical as well as surgical treatments for relief from low back and neck pain.

Depending on the cause of your pain and your preference for treatment, surgical or non-surgical, our goal is to help you find the best solution for pain relief.

Causes of Pain & Conditions Treated

Before any treatment is done, it is important to find the cause of the pain. First, we take your history to determine when the pain began, where it travels, the nature of the pain (shooting, stabbing, burning, etc.) and what makes it better or worse. This is followed by a physical exam and confirmed by detailed MRI or CT scans of the spine. Only after diagnosis of the condition causing pain, can treatment begin. Lower Back & Neck Pain Treatments

Surgical – The KBNI offers dozens of surgical options for relief from lumbar spine and lower back pain that cover the many conditions that can cause it. Technologies also exist to “mask” pain such as a Spinal Cord Stimulator and Intrathecal Pump.

Non-Surgical – Options available include those that involve Physical Medicine and Pain Management.

Conditions treated range from congenital, to mechanical, physiological and disease causes of pain.
